Gilbert Arenas suspended for the remainder of the season

NBA suspends Arenas for rest of season - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

"Including the 12 games he has already missed, Arenas will be suspended for a total of 50 games, costing him nearly $7.4 million in lost salary."

Javaris Crittenton received the same time off.

I hope they both learn that thuggery will NOT be tolerated in a professional environment.

They're too stupid to be allowed to make that kind of money. Hard working people out in the world struggling to make ends meet, and these dopes throw it all away because they can't remember not to bring a gun to work. I don't believe an NBA player has ever been shot while playing basketball. This isn't a playground in the slums, where a drive-by might occur, it's the NBA. The seven figure checks should have been a dead giveaway to that. They should be suspended for life as an example. Maybe it'll wake some of them up. The league didn't die when any other great players left the game. It will be no different if Arenas never steps foot on a court again.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I don't care if he is the go to guy or not but they should have just have banned him for good. Then he comes back and is gonna be the spokesperson on firearms handling. The same with Micheal Vick!!!! A gift and talent to be in the league.I salute them both with my middle fingers!!!!!!!!!

I certainly don't feel sorry for them. Brings the term "stupid" to a new level.

I know if someone brought a gun to work they would be Fired! Their contracts should be invalidated.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Wizards don't let him go even if he is their "marquee" player not that they are much of a team.

Having grown up in the Washinton D.C. suburbs and lived here my entire life; people around here are fairly cynical and fickle about things since everything around here is politics, politics, politics.

Most people are fairly unforgiving when it comes to the local sports teams and really aren't too forgiving.

Probably, just as I open my big mouth, I will hear that the Redskins signed Michael Vick as their new quarterback

Well, it also comes at the time that the owner has died and the whole Wizards team is in flux. Not to mention that Abe Pollin re-named the team (nee Bullets) because of gun violence.
