He's a year older than my Grandma!! McHale's Navy is still one of my favorite shows.

I'm watching an old western on TCM called "Johnny Guitar" from the 1950s. Borgnine plays a nasty less desirabled bad guy who goes up against Sterling Hayden (the crooked cop from the Godfather who roughs up Al Pacino only to later find a bullet in his head just before he nose dives in to his plate of spaghetti). It's surprising seeing Ernest play such a nasty character.

In "From Here to Eternity" they refer to him as "Fat man". He was pretty nasty in that to as I recall.

It is quite amazing that all those thinner tough guys in the films are all dead now and the "FAT MAN" still roams the earth. I suppose a little extra pounds doesn't necessarily hurt as much as the experts say. And I guess his secret must really pay (as well as get) off.

(on a side note, "Johnny Guitar" tough guy co-star Sterling Hayden died of prostate cancer in 1986 - check out some of his youtube vids, he started out on top and ended up pretty much a beatnik hippy later in life. Ernest should have shared his secret back then)
