With the addition of PI (the 3rd cat in our family) they seem to compete for the prized spot on my wifes pillow. The first in bed gets to share her pillow and the others take up a spot along the bottom of the bed waiting for a chance to move up when the pillow becomes available. She tried putting extra pillows across the top but as they may play nice together, they do not sleep nice togther.Where does your kitty lay its head?

Anywhere she wants! If I'm sitting in a chair then she'll kind of lay on my chest but if I'm in bed then right between my feet. -

No...I have not gotten the dog yet...I still have to finish my backyard cottage and backyard.
I may or may not get a Ridgeback...but I will eventually get a dog.
I will not train the dog to be mean though.
I don't want the dog to hurt any of the cats...I just want them to think twice when thinking of coming into the yard. Hopefully...the presence of a dog will be enough to keep them away...that's all.
That's why I may not get a Ridgeback...they have a natural instinct to go after cats...since they were bred to hunt pack lions in South Africa in the first place.
I want the dog to be kid friendly as well.

A friend of my wifes has a Bull Mastiff, the thing is freakin huge, its so scary just to look at her.Its head is gigantic and its mouth would probably fit a foot and the lower leg in it.But in truth she is just a big lamb of a dog.Once you get inside all she wants is petted. The first look of the big dog serves its purpose for sure, nobody goes up to her house that doesn't know the dog is nice. Animal service can't do anything about your wild felines?Comment

What's our number one topic?
Car thefts, litter in the street, loud music at night, other types of crime?
No...cats...
We are working on it.sigpicComment

Did you ever try the Pepermint oil? It works for keeping everything away.Comment

We get it from an Amish bulk dry goods store,I'm pretty sure there aren't any of those in Oakland. We use it to keep the ground hogs and rabbits out of the garden.Comment

BTW...there's one cat who does get a free pass with us...she's the sweetest thing...she belongs to a neighbor a couple of doors away...her name is Cleo...she's very nice...and we never bother her. She loves to hang in our backyard...lol.
However...there are two cats who I absolutely hate...they are both alpha males...and terrorize all the other cats...even lovable Cleo...good thing she's spayed...and wants no part of them.
One has a cropped tail and long legs...looks like a bloody lynx...and the other is this HUGE sucker who must weigh about 20 pounds...they used to go at each other...but now they have formed an alliance...those two are living walking nightmares....I sometimes feel like shooting them with my BB gun...but I never manage to actually do it...I'm not Ted Nugent...lol.
They leave the nastiest and biggest poops this side of the Pacific...bloody hell. They also like to urinate on our cars' tires and rims (we have an open space two-car carport adjacent to the backyard).Last edited by Hector; Jan 24, '10, 12:22 AM.sigpicComment
