Record Stores...

I love to go to Amoeba Music or Rasputin Music. They have that great feel of a classic Record Store. I can always find Cool stuff. I posted some links with more detail on them both

In Sparks, Nevada we had Eucalyptus Records and Tapes in the 70's. It was the "Go-To" place back then. The place smelled of sandalwood, had Rock N Roll tapestries all over, and they also had a headshop there. Eucalyptus Records was always playing music pretty loud, but unlike alot of retail places today, the music didn't suck.

Even today I miss "The Warehouse" which was the music store I used to frequent. I miss music stores because unlike places like Wal*Mart, music was their business and you could buy or order just about anything in print.

I miss them a lot. We had a big one where I grew up in Ft Lauderdale, Peaches records and tapes. It was huge and you spend hours in there. Not metion the one that were head shops also.

Anyone miss the days of going out to buy Records, Cds, Tapes, etc. Although sometimes stuff was overpriced there was always something special about going music shopping. I remember any given mall in the area I grew up in had 2 or 3 music stores in any given mall (lots of stuff I bought then I STILL have). Not to mention all the independent music stores in the area which were the best. Sadly there all gone and the Fye (which sucks) in the area Im living in now is closing its doors next week. So now there are No music stores in any mall or ANY independent music stores around here. Sign of the times I guess. Damn Ipods! (althought I have one).
