Yeah SBC is pretty much Stern and Kaufman rolled into one...

Their cruelness is supposedly justified by it being "a joke".

Or it being a "a job".

And people that don't "get it" are supposedly "uptight".

Hey, I push the limits myself...in a way...as an artist you HAVE to...
but if you hurt someone, it is REAL...NO excuses...

...and, at the least, don't make it a major defining part of your "act".

I don't believe ANYthing justifies hurtful behavior.

So my question is, what happened? When you finally saw the film, did your tastes change? Did your sensibilities change? Did your outlook on this type of stuff change where it no longer appealed to you? Was the mere idea of a singing erect penis funnier to you than actually seeing and hearing one?

        What happened? Just curious.

Just to answer your inquires a bit...Darkstalker ( )...nothing really shocks me...I just didn't find Bruno particularly funny...the character was just annoying to me.

The character of Borat on the other hand...was quite endearing...the complete opposite of Bruno.

I hope you can go to sleep now.

I can think of a lot more offensive jerks on this planet than some comedic entertainer...like politicians, corrupt wall st businessmen, drug cartels, serial killers, tobacco companies, false prophets, etc...

            "put one over on us"?

Who are us...you and the Klingon War Council?

I WILL say "this": The plot/message in BORAT was actually kinda noble.
A bit hacky to point out what AMERICAN BEAUTY did (much better IMO)
in a "prank art" flick...but, still...it was pretty obvious he was trying to
wrap up his LCD yuk fest in a neat, noble bow.

I saw Bruno the other night. Overall it was far less likeable than Borat was. Bruno had it's moments but for the most part it was not that funny and even some of the plot seemed to be rehashing what was already used in Borat

Borat was so much more a better movie than Bruno was in my view
"What motivated him to throw a puppy at the Hells Angels is currently unclear,"

                        "Stalking" you?? Um... No.

But I DID go back and re-read your previous stance on this film after reading about your dislike for it now.

I simply had to see if i was going crazy and not remembering your previous position accurately.

"Darkstalker" ??? Sheesh! First I'm "DarkLOAD" now "Darkstalker". Did ya stay up all night to come up with that one?

You say now that you didn't find Bruno particularly funny and, in fact, found him annoying. But that doesn't really answer my question.

When Bruno and his exploits in this film were described in detail on this message board (when the film first came out), you thought it would all be a hoot laugh riot and couldn't wait to go see it.

It's not like you went in NOT knowing how "annoying" and un-funny the Bruno character was going to be. Some of us on the JEDI (not Klingon) council told you so.

But your response was to tell us what a "genius" Cohen was to come up with this idiot character who's sole purpose seemed to be to shock and offend others with his un-funny pornographic schtick.

So I ask again. What happened that you changed your mind?

What was the difference in what you thought you were going to see in that character (based on what we all complained about) VERSUS what you actually got when you saw the film?

I'll get a perfectly good night of sleep as you come up with an answer to this question.

                        Or maybe you won't.

                          DarkLOAD...it's Bruno...it's really a rather insignificant topic...come on now...chill...lol.

Keep drinking your late night warm milk...since you don't consume alcohol...it's all good...

                            Sigh...

                            It's iced tea. Not milk.

See, I usually do a nice tall glass of cold milk with my tuna fish sandwiches or PB & J sandwiches (usually at lunch).

But at night before bed, I usually need something a little harder than milk. Arizona Iced Tea always does the trick!

                            So there!
