My wife, and I rented Bruno a couple of nights ago.WOW! I think a new record for tastelessness has been reached. If you thought Borrat was crude; avoid this one because you'll be highly offended....or blinded!

Yup,what a vile piece of crap this movie was.
Somebody actually invested money thinking this was a good idea...
“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”
I refuse to. I watched Borat, hated it. I've seen the Bruno trailers and it looks like I'll hate it even more.
I did like Sasha Baron Cohen as Ali G. and in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
"...The agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long and final scream of despair..." - Edgar Allan Poe
Watched Borat and loved it. Watched Bruno and while I didn't hate it nearly as much as some of the others here, I have no desire to see it again. I'd give Borat 3 stars and Bruno 1. Borat tilled a much more fertile satirical ground than Bruno did.
Neither Borat nor Bruno is really all that funny to me. Ali G is a little bit humorous, but extraordinarily juvenile.
There's a certain brilliance to SBC's approach, though. He manages to get people to show their true faces sometimes. Allen Funt did it better 40 years ago with Candid Camera-- and did it with a whole lot more taste.
Be careful about Bruno, though. It's extremely vulgar and you definitely don't want your kids around when it's on. Should have been rated NC-17 IMO.
Really Hector? Well that's very interesting. As I recall, when you read everyone's shocked and offended reviews for this film (prior to YOUR viewing of it), your reaction was to be even MORE interested to see it yourself:

Thanks for the reviews...now I'm definitely gonna see it thanks to you all.

I can't wait to see it...I bet it rules.

You seemed SUPREMELY amused that this offensive jerk Sashca Cohen had "put one over on us":

If Sacha Baron Cohen were reading these posts...he'd be laughing his arse off...this is exactly what he was looking for...lol.
He is a genius...and you guys fell for it, hook, line, and sinker...
By your own words, this type of "entertainment" is right up your alley and is your perfect cup of tea.

I'm a sucker for that kinda stuff.

So my question is, what happened? When you finally saw the film, did your tastes change? Did your sensibilities change? Did your outlook on this type of stuff change where it no longer appealed to you? Was the mere idea of a singing erect penis funnier to you than actually seeing and hearing one?
Thanks for the warning. I won't see it. I thought the guy was a jerk in Borat. Abusing someones neighborly trust is just a jerk thing to do. I have been invited into peoples home as I went backpacking abroad. Abusing hospitality is wrong. He was lying. I don't like that.
And the fat naked man chase and fight was one of the most shocking things I ever saw. I was propped up on my armrests with my mouth hanging open.Yeah that was kinda funny . .ONCE
This kind of humor is easy. I could put on a three piece suit and a innocent smile and walk up to a nice friendly person and smack them in the head with a dildo to shock someone. No brainer.
Who in the world would want to be GOOD at being a jerk?
