I think one of his best roles ever. Frank was a brilliant.

I know lotsa people hate Waterworld, I thought it was entertaining, partly due to Hopper, he played and excellent villain, same goes for Speed

His filmography is one of the most extensive in the business:

Dennis Hopper - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Easy Rider is perhaps his most famous and iconic movie.
I know what a prolific actor he was Hector...I just never saw any of his
              movies really.

I always say I'm gonna watch EASY RIDER and never do.

You'd think I'd have caught SPEED at least once oin the 90s...but I never did.

I bet I'd like SPEED...typical decent action movie from what I've heard.

I mean, what are they gonna say about him, when he's gone, huh? What are they gonna say? Are they gonna say "he was a kind man"? "He was a wise man"? "He had plans"; "He had wisdom"?

Just checked the list of films he stared in, saw the major ones, but couldnt remember him in them, cool hand luke, ok coral? He did make some strange choices in his carrer, I cant say Im a big fan of his, he always seemed to play the bad guy, and always the same way. Sad story about the wife, u think about these women, marrying these old guys, thinking long term plan, that they will croak it soon, and get the money. Surely he could write a will saying the wife to get nothing, or give the stuff away to his kids for a symbolic dollar?

Kind? I'd habe to say yes, but I don't know the guy personally, so who knows.
Wise? Seeing the odd choices he sometimes made, maybe not so much
                    Plans? No doubt.
Wisdom? A man his age must have gained some wisdom. Even making stupid choices leads to some kind of wisdom.

actually I liked Waterworld with the exception of Hopper. I thoguht he was way too over the top.

Good actor though and it is sad. I think he has prostate cancer. they just announced he is divorcing his wife and seeking custody of their kid though so how terminal can he be?

                            Still sad about the news.

Guess, you didn't catch my post about TRUE ROMANCE...it's one of
                              my favorite movies ever.

But I'll take your 2 other recommendations seriously...I had already
planned on seeing EASY RIDER, if only for it's connection to
one of my favorite movies (LOST IN AMERICA where the lead character
                              references it multiple times).

BLUE VELVET...I never heard of, but if that's one of your
top recommendations for HOPPER films, now I'm quite
                              interested in seeing it.
