Yes, Actually have thought of that avenue on a couple of occasions. I did not follow thru though for the following reasons.

    1) - I do not like to be tied down to anything. I enjoy my freedom to roam and travel etc.

    2) - It is some of those same stupid people that I would not be able to stay in the same room with for any length of time.

    Nice thought though.

One of the biggest reasons though is that I have never been the type of person to want to take advantage of or rip anyone off. Unlike some I do have a concious and it gets the best of me. What can I say? I am a sucker for suckers. hahaha

My gf and I frequent Vegas. I never really thought much about Pawn Stars being located there until now. I ought to take some of my more rare Kresge carded figures there to see what kind of a price they would give. Just for the heck of it. Maybe I would be on TV?? Who knows. LOL!!

Yeah, it is kind of funny that people don't even know what they really have in the first place.

At "the big gold buying event" my gf and I went to there was a gal in front of us who had a whole baggie FULL of jewelery. Apparently the majority of it was not real as the guy buying the gold kept handing her back piece after piece. I think he might of bought two pieces out of her whole bag. The rest was probably fake and or junk no doubt.

Is it fair to say that most of the people on Master Pickers that they run into cross the line from collectors to hoarders?

I saw an episode the another night (and missed some of the episode) but will catch it again when it is on demand. The one guy had purchased an abandoned Police Station and had stuff everywhere. It was all stuff that he collected but most of it was just buried under things and collecting dust.

From what I could gather; he wanted to sell off some of his items so he could do some traveling but whenever he was asked if he was willing to sell something; he would usually say no. It was almost like he had an emotional connection with thousands and thousands of items even though they were items that he hadn't looked at in years.

I have seen a couple of episodes like that were the people do not really want to sell anything. That is amazing. Especially with all of the stuff that they have scattered every where and still do not want to give anything up.

As long as I have been watching the show I see that the old clear glass gas pumps are pretty much the bread and butter find for Pickers.

They tend to gravitate toward a few things which must be items that they have a lot of knowledge....advertising signs, oil cans, bicycles, motorcycle type items. other than that, the taller skinny guy likes to go for odd unique items that he thinks someone would like as a decorator piece. He has a really good eye for things generally even when he has no idea the value. He just looks at something that he thinks would be a cool conversation piece in someone's home and go for it. The shorter heavier guy tends to gravitate toward items that are really eccentric but knows he can sell for a profit which makes them a pretty good duo in going through the clutter. I can tell they genuinely love picking through junk to find that one treasure even if it isn't worth much. I would actually be interested to know if these two did this full time prior to the show or if it was more of a hobby until the show started. They seem like they have money to work with.....one of them spent $20,000 on a sweet 1938 Harley Knucklehead but decided to have it fixed up and keep it for himself. It doesn't look they are making money hands over fist with the types of items they are buying.

For some reason I can kind of see myself doing something like this. Only as it pertains to picking Mego's though. I do not have much of an interest going to people's junk yards and picking through scrap items. UNLESS of course there would be some guarantee of Mego's in there some where. LOL!!

I can just see it now.....LIVNXXXL and Nayrbgo along with his side kick Larry. Mego Pickers coming to a net work near you soon. LOL!!!

What do you say Bry you and Lar up for some road trips?

On the first episode of Mego Pickers...

That super rare Mego prototype is mine....NO! I seen it first!....give it...rolling around on the ground.

I couldn't do what they do because I have a nasty habit of making sarcastic comments and gestures if a seller gives a price I think is way too high.

I'm almost like the Pawn Stars guy or even a little worse

One thing I say way too often ..... "what, is there gold inside it ?" ........ when a seller gives me a price I think is too high.
