Just wondering everyone's thoughts.
You have a team that in week 14 the coach apologized to the fans for not making the playoffs. Didn't even realize that, while the chance was a distant one, his team was not mathematically eliminated. Talk about quitting prematurely. Two playoff bound teams then proceed to lay down on them and with the stars aligning they get every win and loss they need to get into the playoffs.
Now take nothing away from the Jets. They have done everything they have needed to in the post season. Going into SD and beating the Chargers is a tremendous feat.
My question is, being that Indy was one of the two teams that "Laid down" enabling them to make it, with the idea being they were resting their players for the playoffs, and now NY has the ability to knock em out, if it happens will it change the way teams play the final games of the season? Do the Jets even have to win to make people think twice? Maybe with the win in SD they'll already think twice.
NFL strategy in recent years has been once you're secured in the playoffs, get ready to play the games that count, but if it comes back to bite Indy in the backside will it change the way things are done in the NFL?
