It's a real tragedy. I haven't donated yet, but I'll probably donate something to the red cross

Time is such a factor right now, even with the millions raised the window is closing on finding survivors. No water and limited electricity not to mention the heat..... Such a tragedy!

it truly is sad, I use to live in a really bad neighborhood in Miami nicknamed Little Haiti so i've known may Haitians and one of my best friends as a kid is from there

It is really easy to text "YELE" to 501501 (and donate $5 to Wyclef jean's grassroots Haiti organization) or "HAITI" to 90999 (to donate $10 to the Red Cross for Haiti). You will feel good about it, I promise.

If you are thinking about donating more, I highly encourage you to ask your company if they match donations to charitable organizations. Many companies do this, often up to $1000 a year. You may feel twice as good going this route. Personally I texted YELE, and will be getting the forms from my wife's company to make another larger contribution and having it doubled. This country is the poorest in the western hemisphere, and practically at our back door.

It's Good Human nature to help those in a crisis but..........I really have a problem with the Governments of these countries that allow their people to live in such despair and waste....and to be truthful in reality most people just take pity put a few dollars in an envelope send it out and in a few weeks time forget about it....

I was in Indonesia after the Tsunami.( I didnt even know the French HAD an army! and the Spanish Red Cross was there) I used to live in Taiwan then Taipei got swallowed up.

I only have so much room in my heart. My friend did missonary work there. He can pray for them. I'm still worried about my friends in the Pacific.

Ever seen old SANE people on the street begging for food? Just because they have no family? We might be nuts in America but the western world has it comfortable.

Yeah I got a call yesterday from church and picked up a bunch of cleaning supplies for a donation Sunday.

But I am more worried about the constant bombings in my old neighborhood in Bali. Closer to home for me.

Glad to see so many people are willing to help .

yeah, government corruption. 80% of the population lives below the poverty level. and half the population is under age 21.

They are trying to dig people out with bare Hands and shovels.... they really have nothing else. ... It's pretty Hardcore ..

That's because of all the corruption that goes on there....those poor people live in Poverty. Sad to see that in 2010
