    Question about vintage wristwatch batteries

    Hey guys,
I have a question ... incase any of you know anything about wristwatches.

I have a mid 70's red LED wristwatch

    I had it since new

I never knew how to open the back to change the battery so it sat as is for 35-ish years untouched.

My buddy got it open ... he said it takes 2 RW44 batteries

Does anyone know if you can still buy these batteries ? ... and if so, can they be bought at like Walmart or some other discount place ?

Lastly, about what should they cost ?

    Thanks

I have an old Commodore digital watch. I'm not sure if it was just coincidence but it stopped working at the turn of the millenium.
I still wear the watch occasionally because it still looks great, even if it doesn't work.
It used to eat batteries though.

I have a Star Wars LED watch somewhere in my vast pile of stuff.
I remember it started acting weird one day. I think the time was running backwards or something. I have never tried replacing the battery.
It's been over 30 years since I've worn it last.

I just called Walmart ..... They have the batteries for 5 bucks apeice

The watch takes 2 of them.

Not sure if I want to spend that kind of money especially if it doesn't work.

Was going to try selling it if it works, but if it doesn't i'm left 10 bucks in the hole.

              Tough decision ..

Maybe take it to a watch place or a jeweler. They might have a couple of batteries loose to try it first.

You can get them online for a buck or two a piece.

Here's a site that accepts paypal and will ship USP first class for $3 or so.
