Great final comment on the matter too ........

Please do not be cynical. I hate cynicism. For the record, it's my least favorite quality. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen.

^ Was nice to see Will Farrell bring out the cowbell

I was hoping for a few more of Conan's signature bits last night, but it only was an hour and it was a pretty decent send-off nonetheless.

He can't be interviewed or make TV appearances for 3 months and can't start his new projects until Sept.

Conan finished the last show doing a complete version of Free Bird jamming with Wil Farrell, ZZ Top and Beck.

    It was a nice goodbye

Exactly...it's not the old newbie network anymore...Fox is now a juggernaut.

But Conan is a great host and interviewer...plus witty and funny.

Plus he's already established as a late night host.

    Chase was simply terrible...just terrible.

Besides...Chase was hosting late night when Fox was a just startup newbie network...the new kid on the block sort of speak.

Fox is now a force to be reckoned with.

Chase wasn't a great fit for that show to begin with. But even if Chevy was great, that show had a lot of stuff going against it. Fox will have to work out the details, but I think they can work well together. The biggest hurdle for a show like that is establishing a host.

    Conan's established.

Fox has a huge lineup of guests to give Conan. Simon Cowell and people like that won't be doing the Tonight Show anymore, they'll be doing Conan's show. Networks love to in house promote and that's exactly what a late night talk show would do for Fox.

Right now they just have to get it worked out with the affiliates, which one would assume they can do by September.

Yeah that was the holdup on the buyout. I believe Conan's number was $32 million, the debate was the severence for the 150-200 staff members he had on the show. If $32 million and 200 staff is right they'll split 13 million or $65,000 each. Nice severence, plus how many will follow him to his next gig? Probably most of them so they'll be working again by Halloween the latest. Fox is looking like the most obvious choice right now. I'm guessing same time slot as the Tonight Show. Should be interesting to say the least.
