    You lucky people.
Exactly. I always find it funny how Americans complain about gas prices, while you're not even paying half of what we pay over here. Quite your complaining already

            Agreed.

Look at Mexico...it's an oil rich country...people earn a lot less there per capita...yet their gas prices are $2.60 a gallon...only a bit cheaper than most of the U.S (and the same as the American Southwest).

A lot of the difference in prices throughout the country has to do with individual states specific demands of the refinement process of the gasoline.

New Jersey has cheap gas because the state doesn't require the strict refinement that other states do ...... On the opposite side of the coin California has very high standards making their gas one of the highest in the nation.

So you can't win either way ...... Cheap states pollute the air and expensive states drain your wallet.

If I had my choice, I choose pollute the air with cheap refinement ... I couldn't care less what the world will be like in 50 years ...

My old Mustang pollutes like nobody's business...and it's exempt from the tough California emissions laws due to its age...I love it...lol...

Here in Alberta, where we pump the stuff out of the ground and refine it less than a 10 minute drive from my house, gas is about $3.50 a gallon...

But that's because we have so many people sucking on the Welfare State -- oops! -- I mean we have so many wonderfully worthy Social Programs to support.

Oh, I know, a thread like this shows up every year.
                        And every year I chuckle
