True. There's only so much I can fingerpoint at Howard and the tone
of Howard's show(s) from the very start of his rise to fame.
Still, to me there's enough there to "point at", in spite of Artie ultimately
being the one responsible for how he himself (Artie) is percieved and,
    indeed, his fate.

A safe, if not classy move on Hoiward's part.

Of course, I'd like to see a happy ending here...I'd even venture to say it
could have a real positive influence on many a substance struggling Howard
    listener.

Stern never takes drug...rarely drinks...love his daughters to death...and has no ill feelings towards his ex...he never badmouths her.

If you can't separate show business shtick with reality...you got problems.
I feel you have the problem Hector.

The song and dance you just posted is justification for a lot of negative stuff
that Howard has built upon over the years....if that makes his listeners feel
better about all that stuff...fine, but it's bull.

Howard justifies that stuff in a simillar fashion---I've read his books--
he abuses people and then says:"It's for the good of the show" as if
that since the show is a "show" it justifies being a jerk. Again, it's bull.

There are a lot of "put ons" in Howard's show...but just as much "real life"
stuff to balance it out...in a negative way.

This is REAL stuff...real behavior...inflicted on targets and served up
to a huge part of society....a distatseful part of society who finds humor
      in the misfortune of others.

Bottom line....The ends don't justify the means with Howard's schtick.

Charities? Every rich person gives to charities whether they are a cool person or not a cool person...and Stern's one of the richest.
He'd be a financial dunce if he didn't give to charities.

As far as Howard not doing drugs? Who cares...he showcases enough druggies glorifying drug use that it's worse than if he indeed did do drugs.

"Rarely drinks"? I'm not even going to address that...except for pointing out how vague that statement is.

And, the big enchilda here...."He loves his daughters to death."
Great. He loves his daughters. He MUST be a great guy.

And Howard's first wife? His whole movie was bookended on the fact
that he could be with any woman...he could be this real "crazy guy" that his radio show paints him as, but...no....he's this loving, devoted husband who
is true to his wife, sticks by her because she stuck by him during his lean
years A few years later..."bye-bye wife"---

      Jeez.

I read Artie's autobiography last year, and one of the thing's I was most surprised at, was how depressing it was. Don't get me wrong, it had it's laugh out loud moments, but addiction is depressing and it really came out in the book, as he held nothing back.
Didn't even know much about him before I read the book, just read it at a friend's recommendation. i wish the guy the best, if you've read the book you know he's been so low before, but nothing get's worse than this, Artie Lange has finally reached rock bottom.

And THIS is guy who drudges up other bull from other debates about
pop culture stuff as an answer to my well-though out post.

            Nice

P.S. when did I "cry" about the "skank" that just died----just pointing out
"other points of view" in that thread---I never even KNEW WHO SHE WAS
            until she died.

P.S.S. "defend Paris Hilton?" Again, I just point out differing points of view
on pop culture stuff in those Paris threads AND I think she's hot----
and if it bothers you enough to debate with me then fine...

but try to keep the subject to the appropriate thread if you want to appear
like you're having a debate that is actually applicable to said subject
            matter

Maybe you should have tried defending your "skank" buddy Howard
            instead?
