    Rocky IV...Dolph Lundgren...a real baddasss...

Sylvester Stallone has stated that the original punching scenes filmed between him and Dolph Lundgren in the first portion of the fight are completely authentic. Stallone wanted to capture a realistic scene and Lundgren agreed that they would engage in legitimate sparring. One particularly forceful Lundgren punch to Stallone's chest slammed his heart against his breastbone, causing the heart to swell and his breathing to become labored. Stallone, suffering from labored breathing and a blood pressure over 200, was flown from the set in Canada to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica and was forced into intensive care for eight days. Stallone later commented that he believed Lundgren had the athletic ability and talent to fight in the professional heavyweight division of boxing.

Additionally, Stallone claimed that Lundgren nearly forced Carl Weathers to quit in the middle of filming the Apollo versus Drago exhibition fight. In one take for the Creed-Drago fight scene, Lundgren tossed Weathers into the corner of the boxing ring. Weathers retaliated by throwing an authentic punch at Lundgren's face. Lundgren reportedly threw a right hook which left Weathers unconscious for several minutes. Upon regaining consciousness, Weathers shouted profanities at Lundgren while leaving the ring and announcing that he was quitting the movie and calling his agent. Only after Stallone forced the two actors to reconcile did the movie continue. This event caused a four day work stoppage while Weathers was talked back into the part, while Lundgren had to be forced into toning down his aggressiveness.

Drago owns both Rocky and Apollo...

Lundgren also whups on Mr T aka Clubber Lang.

However...his streak ends with Tommy Morrison aka Tommy Gunn of Rocky V....for he was a REAL heavyweight champ...WBO.

      I dunno Hector---I can't believe I haven't read that before.
Though, if it's true, it's a pretty dang cool couplea anecdotes for the Rocky fans.

This is 1000% certain...Tommy Morrison (Tommy Gunn, Rocky V) destroys all of them.

Check out Morrison in his prime...fighting in a REAL Rocky-type fight...

Maybe in a street fight Lundgren can hang with Morrison...Lundgren is big and strong...plus he knows other types of martial arts....which included kick boxing.

They sure picked the right guy to play "Death From Above" Drago
                ...that's for sure.

That really did have a "Rocky" feel to it. Tommy throwing "flurries" of what
looked to be "mean" punches...and then continuing after the ref steps
in...the only thing weird about it was the ref calling the fight with the other
guy still on his feet....I didn't think that was possible, Rocky or no Rocky.

Well...in real boxing...the ref can certainly stop the fight if the hurt boxer is getting hit and not throwing any punches back. Boxers don't have to be knocked down and out for fights to be stopped.

                    That is what's called a TKO...not a KO.

Having said that...I think Razor Ruddock could've continued.

Thanks Hector----I always knew the term "Technical Knock Out" but rarely
could retain what it indeed meant ---if it wasn't in a ROCKY movie
then it made it even easier to forget!

                          Cool anecdotes about Rocky IV.
But who can kick who's *** I dunno, all I know is I wouldn't wanna fight anyone of them

I recall seeing a boxing match between Dolph and UFC legend Oleg Tacktaroff?? It was sad. Neither are boxers.

I also heard last night that Stallone suffered a broken neck at the hands of Stone Cold, filming the Expendables.

                              I didn't like Morrison

Rocky went from Carl Weathers to Carl Weathers to Mr T to Dolph Lungren to ..... Morrison ?

He might be a great boxer in real life, but his screen presents made Rocky-5 look cheap and thrown together.
