Forty years of broadcasting will do that to ya. In Dave's defense though, after the CBS switch (and all the money) he became a "celebrity". Not his fault but with all that money and publicity it turned Dave into a tabloid seller and in turn a commodity. But in all actuality what does it really matter? The intimacy of TV personalities and their audience is gone in this over saturated 24-7-365 broadcast day.
Besides that soapbox rant, Ferguson is a TV personality in the purest sense. You can tell he loves his audience and they love him back. The other guys expect to be loved simply because they are on TV. They don't earn it.
