Like Damien said...a little slow...but it's a GREAT movie...very influential.

BTW...did you know Al Pacino was a virtual unknown...and he got paid only $35,000 for the Michael Corleone role?

Can you believe that I only figured out that was Pacino about halfway through the movie? I have never watched a movie with him so young and just didn't pick up on it until the scene when he was yelling at his first wife not to start the car.

I really wanted to like GF3, but I just don't ...

I seen it in the theatre and got all hyped up ahead of time, but it left me cold.

Stuff I didn't like about it ....

1. No Robert Duvall

2. Too much opera music (enough to drive one crazy)

3. Didn't like the Andy Garcia in love with Michael's daughter subplot

4. The entire movie seemed way over the top (like the writer got too full of himself)

IMO, GF3 sucked

I think both the first 2 are great, though they would never appear on my favorite movie list. I like the first a little better than the second. It's still James Caan's shining moment.

i'd recommend reading the book first and then watch the movie. btw great book and you will not be able to put it down!

I know a lot of Godfather fans are gunna come down on me for this but I hate the Robert DeNiro parts.

DeNiro is great, but that whole back story is boring as hell and just slows 2 down imo.

I lost track of how many times that has happened...

That's pretty much what I am thinking, I'll be glad I made myself watch it. Halfway thru and it's OK. And that was my next question, is 2 a better movie. Thanks for answering it before I could ask it.

You get to see Robert DeNiro in the second one....but never in the same scene with Al Pacino...because DeNiro plays Vito Corleone before Michael's character is born.

it feels a little boring at first but it's a great film

Mostly because it moves faster than 1

1 moves like a snail sometimes.

Don't get me wrong, 2 isn't no rollercoaster ride of thrills, but it does move faster then 1
