Seriously? Vick?
"The Ed Block Courage Award is named in honor of Ed Block, the longtime head athletic trainer of the Baltimore Colts who was a pioneer in his profession and a respected humanitarian."
"The Ed Block Courage Award Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of neglected children and ending the cycle of abuse. The purpose is to raise Awareness and Prevention of child abuse. That objective is coupled with the Foundation's commitment to celebrating players of inspiration in the NFL."
At what point did he do anything aside from reinvigorating his own career? Even if all of the players who voted for him really believed he was a changed man, didn't any of them see this is as possibly a mixed message? I can't believe the Eagles players picked him, unanimously, for this award. That doesn't say much for their IQ or their character. The Eagles gave him a shot right out of jail and rightfully so. He paid his dues and deserves the right to earn a living. However, how can you in good conscience give this convicted felon a humaitarian award for children? This is just baffling to me and makes me want to see them lose in the playoffs big-time.
As always, athletic ability trumps intelligence.
