    The 2007 JC Penney Christmas catalog...

    is nothing short of pathetic! I know they're trying to encourage people to use the website, and save on postage, but c'mon...some things just shouldn't be messed with. And the action figures are just sad. Generic ARMY GIJoes. Nothing else. Girls have dolls up the wazoo, (which are also awful, just Barbies, babies and Bratz!) but no good figures for the boys. I'm sitting here comparing it to the 1973 catalog. No contest.

    Has anyone else received this in the mail? What are your thoughts?

      Yeah, most of today's toys just don't cut it for me. I still cruise around toy stores, but rarely see anything inspiring...So glad I was a kid in the Mego generation.

        I don't even receive a catalog or for that matter even shop at JcPenney.

        We completed all of our Christmas shopping from JcPenney and Sears catalogs growing up.

        My siblings and I would all go through the catalog and circle the items that we would like for Christmas and that was it.

        As I stated in numerous posts, mall or non-grocery store shopping was not a past time of my mother's so I never really saw the inside of a department store until I was at least in 5th or 6th grade to the best of my memory.

          I had assumed JC Penny stopped printing a Christmas catalog a few years ago.

            Sears did, but JC Penny still does, well, barely.

                  Even the Sears wishbook is craptacular these days, I get excited when they first come in but then it quickly fades. I don't know why but the Canadian toy buyer at Sears seems to think Military toys are the coolest things ever, it's literally five pages of G.I. Joe knockoffs.
