Robot Romance in Japan for Christmas

Robot Romance: Inventor Le Trung takes his 'fembot' girlfriend to Christmas dinner | Mail Online

Notice they don't touch the obvious question but there are hints

"She has real silicone skin and a real-hair wig made by a Japanese doll company. Her touch sensitive body knows the difference between being stroked gently or tickled."

If you grab or squeeze too hard she will try to slap you. She has all senses except for smell.

'Like a real female she will react to being touched in certain ways,'said Le.

'But Aiko is always helpful and never complains. She is the perfect woman to have around at Christmas.'

That's creepy, but I guess his intentions are good, wanting to be able to help elderly and incapacitated people.

Wow, that's weird and kinda cool at the same time. But I hate to think what would happen if she malfunctioned. She could hurt someone or destroy property. (and darn it, I just can't get the Fembots from the Bionic Woman out of my mind.)
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

            Hmmmm....

So.... have the Japanese crawled out of the uncanny valley or no?

            >I hate to think what would happen if she malfunctioned

It's only a matter of time. Still; this robot doesn't scare me as much as the EATR.
