    Risk Takers??

I guess I'm not much of a risk taker now that I have my daughter. When I was in the service I was "volunteered" for jump school. In the Air Force very few people get jump training so I JUMPED at the chance. I did at least 30 jumps including jumping into Panama and loved each one. For some idiotic reason even with anti aircraft and small arms fire coming at us I was thrilled. I was an idiot. Today I'm happy to be alive. The shoot could have failed, I could have got shot, the pack could have gotten hit. That was the biggest risk I ever took with my life.

    Jump about 7 years later.

I'm at the University of Wyoming with my buddy Lee and we decide to take his mustang noth. No cops up in the middle of Wyoming. We take turns on an abandon highway getting his car up to about 120 mph. The freakin car is shaking like crazy. One small rock or bump and we could have flipped. Thank god we didn't. Oh and I was wrong about the cops. One stopped us going about 110 and we got a big time lecture. About a half hour about what idiots we are. today I agree.

Same time as Idiot #1 (me) and Idiot #2 Lee are zooming in central Wyoming I get out to take a leak. Well I wizzed on an electric fence and get the freakin shock of my life. The shock temperarily krocks me cold and shoots me about 3 feet. So here I am, fly open and you know what hanging out unconscious. Thank god only Lee was there. My wife would have killed me (yes I was married at the time).

Anyone here a risk taker? Lets hear your story.

No, absolutely not. I was always very accident prone as a kid. I broke my leg roller skating, and I was playing a video game, not even skating in the actual ring. I think this was learned behavior(my mom always afraid I'd get hurt), that I'd stiffen up and be afraid even when I did try new things, and I think that's the difference between me and those kids would would jump right in without fear. I was never able to climb trees, took ages to ride a bike, and I barely played sports. When I ended up working with kids, I watched them jump off the swings and land on their feet, and for some reason I decided that this was something I should learn while still in my 20s(this was at least 8 years ago). So I get the swing going pretty well, and the kids are yelling, "Just jump!" So I did. And I landed right on my face in the tanbark. Never tried that again.
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

About 20 years ago my '77 Trans Am lost it's brakes completely about 7 miles away from my house.

I drove it home up and down mountains for 7 miles until I got it home.

I'm such an idiot -- but I didn't wanna pay a wrecker to come get it

Nope, I'm a chicken-baby. OK, it's not as bad as all that. I mean, I used to be scared of rollercoasters, now I love them. But I was never the type of kid to play on the monkey bars, b/c I was afraid of falling. The height didn't bother me, even low ones scared me. The falling was the issue. I did do things like cut school, forge notes to the attendance office, and charge long distance calls to other people's phone numbers. But I guess that was just a rebellious teenager crap. These days, I'm a boring homebody.

I do it all the time and can't get the street racing thing out of me.Most of us street veterans go out somewhere have a big meet on who would race who and go balls out for money.Race at places where doesn't affect regular drivers like them damn import crowds thats want to be like fast and the furious. We have wicked cars 9/10 sec street cars 150 + mph.The risk are the state troopers but it all for fun and very dangrous.

I have the Adventure Team /Batman lisyt instead of the Bucket list.

Skydiving, Scuba, caving, rock climbing, ROTC, Rapelling, Fencing class, Etc.

I just got over my roller coaster fear ( dont like not being in control) because of Fire Hawk its a flying coaster I do all the Chris Reeves poses.

I have worked on and done SFX for horror films and seen a thousand but I got kicked out of the last Haunted House I tried for flipping out . I startle easy.

Hey At least now my buddy knows I'm serious. I tried to jump into his arms like Scobby does shaggy.

I want to learn how to Ski. A plastic surgeon talked me out of Hanggliding.

Honestly I dont much of an adrenaline rush. Its just stuff on the list. I think Im getting world weary.

One day I wanna go skydiving and bungee jumping.
I've raced a car on the highway at 160 once, wasn't my car, mine can't go that fast

My adrenaline rushes are snowboarding and mountain biking. I'm not into tricks so much as SPEED with both pursuits. Nothing like screaming down a mountain on a board or bike.

I'm overly cautious now, but let's just say as a teen, I did some stupid stuff. The best of the worst was jumping off of a moving train. A buddy and I had decided to check out a freight train that was not moving. We were having fun on the ladders and such when it started up again. The dumb part was that instead of getting off immediately, we thought that we could just ride it for awhile, by the time we thought of the fact that it may not stop until, oh, maybe Pennsylvania, it must have been going at least 30 or 40 m/p/h. We jumped off to each side and in hind sight, if there was a train coming in the other direction, I wouldn't be typing this right now. Dumb. Oh, and my kids do not hear this story until they have kids of their own. lol.
                            It's all good!
