I just love flashlights, so I gave this flashlight to the men in my life. It's small, super bright and cheap. And it will come in handy one day. It was invented by a 15-year old! My dad and my uncle loved them.

^^ seriously! Nothing like getting a bill with 10,000 texts on it at 15 cents a text.

I made a custom picture frame for my wife b/c she had a 50 x 10 inch panoramic view of the ohio senate (where she works) that she could not get a frame for. I also surprised her with a Wii - she knows I'm a cheap skate and had previously vetoed it as too materialistic

I picked out a bunch of gifts at walmart with my girls and we dropped them off for Toys for tots and we donated $ to mid ohio food bank - thats the kinda stuff that matters to me

this probably lands pretty firmly under weirdest as opposed to coolest....

I once gave Douglas Paszkiewicz creator of the comic Arsenic Lullabies a brain in a jar.

The whole thing was quite the caper, I'm pretty sure it was a lamb brain as those are the most common, it seems, in college level dissections and I had access to a few of the local colleges.

He posted a list of "acceptable" birthday gifts and mixed in where a few random things such as a body part in a jar. I'm sure he never expected to get one.

But fate would have it that he was going to be in my city at a tiny failure of a local comic con on the weekend of his birthday, so I decided to pull it together.

odd thing to do, and forever a fun story.

I'm also working on giving a full bat skeleton mounted in a red satin lined box as a late xmas gift....it's proving tough to find a nice set of bones for a decent price though.

                      I'm an odd duck somedays......

I gave the wifey a reconditioned vacuum cleaner and some replacement bags. Hell yeah.
