The wife just sent me a couple of cool DVDs and books.., which is fine, since I'll be doing some serious eBaying over the next few months for Mego Titans, FF figures, and the sought-after FF Kirby issues.

The 'Something Something Something Darkside' DVD hasn't arrived here yet, but I'll pick it up when it comes..

Well my Oregonian online best friend included a few Christmas gifts in the package he sent for our recent trade.
                      Best present I got.
Beautiful Human Torch, a couple LJN guys (swat & emergency and I have the spare parts to complete them) and as you can see they are each holding some sweet spare parts. A two-textured Robin glove, a pair of Rbin boots, a decent Batman cape and a SWEET RC Batman Bruce Wayne head!!!
                      Russ is the BEST!

Rik, I feel your pain. We didn't exchange much at all. About a month ago we got a complete new furnace/AC system for the house. So that REALLY put a damper on our spending. So depending on when you come for a visit, you'll be comfy warm or cool.

I got a nice zippered sweater from my sister-in-law and an autographed Lemmy (from the band Motorhead) action figure. That was about it; we all pitched in more for my brother's two sons, ages 7 and 4. Speaking of them, I had to make a painful decision: no MEGOS (actually, EMCE) for them this year. Even though I've gotten them interested in Star Trek, I just couldn't bear to see the playset and characters get used for a couple of days and then all thrown into the big box of disarray that is the final destination for many of their toys.

Instead, I got them various things from the Playmates 2009 movie line, including the bridge, transporter and various 3" figures. Talk about miniscule, hard to pose and easy to lose! Still, they love these things and gave them more play than I figured they would (when you're competing with Beatles Rock Band that's an accomplishment). They also got some of the Playmates ST 2009 6" figures -- these aren't perfect, but would have been much better to build playsets and other accessories around -- the light up USS Enterprise, phasers, communicators and tricorders.

As for the EMCE figures in storage ... maybe a few more years and they'll get them. I didn't get my first MEGO ST figures until I was 12 ... perhaps that's the reason I still have most of them today.
