You haven't lived unless you see Bea Arthur sing to Greedo....

My Sister and I watched this, and I recall she thought Lumpy and Itchy were the best thing to happen to Star Wars ever. If I was playing with my 12" figures, she would jump in and use my 3 3/4" Chewie as Lumpy....it was kind of like having Bat mite show up at the time, but looking back now, I sure miss those times.Leave a comment:

Yep, that's how it was back in the 70's, variety shows were everywhere.
I remember watching the Star Wars special with my friend at his house. It wasn't as good as I'd hoped, but back in that pre-video era, we were so starved for anything Star Wars that we were happy enough with it.
Can't sit through it now though, I've tried but just can't do it.Leave a comment:

I remember wanting to see it really bad but my folks went Christmas shopping instead. All these years later,I think it was for the best we did that instead.Leave a comment:

Seems to me this was on at Thanksgiving time, wasn't it?
That's what I remember or I might be mixing it up with something else.

I was at my cousin's house for Xmas dinner. Had my favorite present with me. Probably Force Commander from the Micronauts. We waited and waited for this to come on. Was the only time I ever saw it until about 4 years ago. NOBODY remembered it and everyone thought I was insane when I'd talk about it. lol. It was cute as a kid but some of it is unbearable to watch now. Had they told the Wookie story and shown the cartoon only, as separate pieces and removed all th Bea Arthur nonsense, it may have faired better.

Since its Christmas time I thought id remind everyone of this disaster. The only thing I liked was the animation scene where you see the introduction of Boba fett.
Anyone remember watching this when it came out?Leave a comment:

I was so hopped up on Star Wars at the time that I took it all in unconditionally.
As it stands now, it's an example of the way TV worked back then. They took Star Wars and made a variety holiday show out of it.Leave a comment:
