    Obsessive Compulsive much?

Okay I'm going to put myself out there.

I uh, get a little carried away sometimes with toys.

Sometimes I wish I had never heard those seductive dreaded words " Collect them all."

ANd army building? OOOOOOO don't get me started.

Hate to be the oddball in the room. I doubt anyone could relate . . .

Staying focused can be the hardest part of collecting.

      Hear! Hear!

Actually, that's something I always preach myself...and PRACTICE!

I'm always getting rid of stuff and trying to sincerely, "know what I want".

Tell me about it. But so far I've managed to do just that

This was one of the main reasons I quit collecting toys, there is no visible end to it. Now that I have my 100% attention to collecting LSU, the items are fun to look for, there is no cross collecting, etc.

I just come here now for the free pie!!!!

...and to poke fun at Toys2Cool every year when the College World Series start because of the 96 CWS and his Canes!!!

I just don't have the "Collect them all" Mentality... Unless we are Talking DC Universe ... , AND The New MOTU Line.., Until Snake Tela showed up ... I always just collect what I like.

BTW.. as far as Army Building... Nothing is cooler if you are actually playing with your Toys.., than 50, 30 Point articulate Clone Troopers and a Couple of Vehicles.

I am right there with you...... I promised myself it would just be AJ's since they are relatively cheaper and more available then most megos, not to mention my favorite, but I am all over almost everything mego.....

Is there an 800 # or 10 step program???

My place is bursting at the seams, and what's worse is, I get attached and don't want to sell any of it.

                  Hmmmm....

Mine comes in waves. Once I got a Mego Conan I lost the urge to get them all; but then I started customizing, which created the urge to BUILD them all. Several projects (in various stages of completion) are starting to take up a lot of room:

                  -Supercity
                  -Mego scaled Destroid
-Mego scaled M-113 and KV-2 armoured vehicles
-Mego scale version of the Kenner Death Star

I'm trying to focus only on Mego-like if I get anything new. However, with Mattel and the Doc bringing in the new line, I'm thinking I and my basement am in trouble
                    It's all good!

That's my problem. I try to sell and it is very hard. Hard to part with my little plastic family.

Nope not anymore...I put that bad habit to rest. Money is tight and Family comes first...actually I've been able to sell off many of the toys that have no value and were taking up too much room.

Plus I learned with new toys that if I wait it out......I can have them for absolutely nothing later on. I only buy Vintage stuff that has meaning to me and loved as a child.

Dude I am such an ocd person when I collect.Especially books and comics.
Friends used to mess with me by giving me a book or comic mid way through it's series sit back and laugh while I had to get the rest of the set.
To this day mt holy grail of paper backs is book #22 of the survivalist series written by Jerry Ahern. Can not get it anywhere and if I do come across it it is priced at like $350...350 for a paper back that came out in the early nineties...

To me collecting is sorta like surfing. The wave takes me in till there's no wave anymore. Then I'm filled with the awesome feelings of your ride, but always looking for the next wave.

Some people approach it like building a house.

So which do most non action figure people think is stranger ? Grown people who buy expensive toys and store them under bulletproof mylar/kevlar cases or guys like me who rip them out of teh box in the store parking lot and play with them in teh bathtub?

50 troopers at 30 points each equals 1500 points you have to pose.and then theres the guys who fall down halfway through. Times like that I think I would prefer Green army men.
