Let it Snow, Let it Snow....

They are expecting 15 to 20 inches of snow by nightfall here in the metro/DC area. That is unusual for this region. It is all up and down the east coast. Hope everyone, whether flooding rain or snow stays safe and warm! I had gone to the grocery store on Thursday, so we were really OK for items, but I wanted a jar of peanut butter Friday night, because I saw we were running low. Glutton for punishment that I am, I went to the store to see what the mad house was like. As I mentioned, this area doesn't get much in the way of snow and freaks if there are 6 inches and the supermarket reflected that. Milk and bread did not exist. Peanut butter did though, so I was happy. They also had "Cookie Crisp" cereal on sale, so I decided the family needed a treat . The other aisle that was bare was the potato chip aisle. That sort of surprised me, but I guess chips are a "trapped in the house" food. I grabbed a bag of "hint of line" Doritos, which weren't very good. It was more like "Gobs and Gobs of lime" Doritos.
    It's all good!

we are getting mixed reviews on how much to expect up here in NY....I have heard snow showers, 1-3 inches and 5-8 inches, depending on which channel you tune into.

I'm jealous of the whole White Christmas thing you guys have going on over there. It was 39 degrees Celsius (About 100 F) here on Thursday. Christmas time means summer, beach, and the traditional Aussie Christmas Day lunch of Turkey, Ham.. and fresh chilled Lobster :-)

        Cheers!

We've got maybe 2 inches out here right now, with 2 more possible by tomorrow morning. And the funny thing is, everything grinds to a screeching halt with just that amount! We have a lot of windy backroads that aren't salted or scraped. If school wasn't out for Christmas break already, come Monday the kids would have a snow day guaranteed.

I hate snow, but today won't be too bad since the snow's falling on a weekend and shouldn't interfere with getting to work. Plus, I have a legitimate excuse for hanging around the house and watching Law & Order reruns.

I feel a little sorry for retailers. The Saturday and Sunday before Christmas are the busiest shopping days of the year, so having them ruined by snow is pretty bad for an already shaky economy.

I am also in the camp of you can keep your snow. Pretty to look at as long as it is somewhere else a long way away from me.

Hasn't started here yet but it's supposed to. I'm crossing my fingers it's not
as bad as it's supposed to be tomorrow. Best comic book show of the month coming up then and I don't want to miss it!

In the Poconos (where I am) they're calling for 1-2 inches to fall per hour totalling to perhaps 2 feet.

I hope that don't happen because snow here usually means power outages ... which sucks

Ski resorts here are probably happy though
