The UKs Christmas pop charts battle.

This should be interesting this year. Recently the Christmas number one has been the winner of the 'X Factor' (tallent contest - I think it's pretty much a worldwide show now?) You know the score anyway - winners single released in time for Christmas.
To throw a spanner in the works this year a Facebook campaign has seen people buying Rage Against The Machines 'Killing In The Name Of' with a view to keep the X Factor winner off the top.
So far RATM are out in front, but it's only been based on download purchases as the X Factor single can now be bought in the shops.
It should be interesting to see whether pop power or rage power wins.

It just seems that people are getting a little tired of Simon Cowells pop factory.

well i look at it like this paul... simon will only be miffed off with facebook because it might make a very small hole in his allready overfull pockets.....he said people on face book doing that are silly and childish... ahhhhh poor old bank balance!!

he wants an extra 3 million to do x factor next year.... in a time of hardship for lots of people ..unemplyment etc... he personaly makes me sick .... doesnt stop to think for once how hard it is for most people in this country...

Since people stopped buying singles ( i'm talking 7" records here ) the pop charts have been meaningless anyway.

              Bring back the 70's.
