Classy speech from the Hitman at the WWE 2006 Hall of Fame...

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SspqgtefCrk

I can't quite hear what the audience were chanting in the beginning when Steve Austin was talking...I think it was an anti-Hulk Hogan chant...especially after looking at his reaction...Hogan was not too happy...lol.

...and Bret Hart's behaviour was in fact what changed Vince McMahon's character of announcer to the big official participating head honcho...

        Oh @#$% Yeah!!!!
Everybody knows I'm the biggest hitman fan around these boards!!!
It's awesome news.I grew up out west and watched him from the time I was a kid.Damn near 30 years now.Glad he is back as a commentator,I hope it turns out to be more maybe not wrestling but at least manging some young canadians like the bulldogs kid or something.

I hope he slaps the living crap out of Michaels one last time!!!
The last time I saw him on tv he said he was 98% back to his old mobility as far as the stroke went.
He also said he would like to step back into the ring one more time in the future.I have no doubt if he set his mind to it he could do it.
I mean come on look at lawler...LOL

TNA is the only reason he was signed. if hogan is in TNA then Vince needs an OLD wrestler to oppose him for drawing the old fans in. As a rule the recent history wrestlemanias have all featured an 80's fan fav in a high profile match. And Brett had a decent following of devoted fans

It won't draw me in enough to sit thourough 8 weeks of raw to see him yammer about Owen and Jim and davey and Stu and the history of his family I saw enought of that in the late 90's

I think Vince and a lot of people are over-estimating Brett's popularity and appeal.

Most people seem to have forgotten it was during Brett's watch when the WWF started to suck very badly ....... Bad enough that Vince booted Brett and did a total retool of the entire franchise.

Brett has a relatively small fanbase -- but this fanbase is overly vocal making Brett Hart SEEM more popular then he really is.

Yes, if Vince makes him bad and he does the USA sucks routine again it might be popular for a little while -- until people realize it's just replay of something 20 years ago.

If Vince brings him back as a goodguy, he's totally doomed from the start because he has no personality.

Either way, it wont last ...
Vince will tire of him in a short time and boot him out again.

Your logic is flawed considering he only has a four month contract...
I truly think you are underestimating his fan-base.

Of all the wrestlers i've ever met (and I met many) Brett Hart and Bruno Samartino were the two worst to meet.

Both wouldn't even look at you or even acknowledge you were there while signing.
Just pay their assistant and move along.

A four month contract is a quick push....I'm sure whatever they decide to do with Bret (face or heel) will generate interest with the fans and serve it's purpose...which is the road to Wrestlemania. Anything long-term probably wouldn't go over with the fans, especially if there are health considerations for Bret.

He must have some compromising photos of some Mcmahon family member to keep getting contracts

I think it has something to do with his fierce loyalty to vince and the fact that he supposedly is the guy that keeps all the wrestlers in line backstage.
Before he came to wwe he was unemployed by wcw and in desperate need of work.He went to Vince asked for a job Vince said sorry I don't have anything right now.He called mark(taker) a couple months later and asked if he was the undertaker,Mark said yes and the rest is history. He credits Vince for the character and helping him to achieve his great chances in life so as long as Vince wants him around I'm sure he'll stay.

There is a great interview with undertaker on youtube from his "off the record" interview.
