    Roy Disney dies

Just heard Walt's nephew Roy died of cancer today. He did a lot to carry on the traditions his uncle started. Rest in piece.

Yea, I think he finished the Magic Kingdom in Florida

I heard Vacation's Roy Wally was named after him.

      :(

While Roy would at times get on my nerves (He liked to put his dad over as basically creating the entire Disney brand) he worked hard to perserve the Disney dream. I felt bad when he got ousted a few years ago.

I think I read in DisneyWar that he was the one who thought Disney should purchase Pixar early on when Pixar had just released Toy Story and thought it was going to be the future for animation.

Eisner disagreed and thought the price was too high (which is chicken scratch compared to what the ultimately paid for it years later).

seems he was the driving force behind a lot of what went on, including
Eisners entrance and exit from Disney

Wow...sad to hear it. I collect autographs through the mail and sent him some Mickey Mouse cards about two months ago and he signed them for me and returned them within 5 days. I had no idea he was that sick, but then it can go fast like that, it did with my own father.
Is anyone left at Disney now who worked with Walt himself?
