    Very BIG scare

About a month ago my wife got the results of her mammogram. They found a mass. About two weeks ago we went to have a biopsy dune to determine if it was cancerous. Well today we got her results back and it is NOT cancer!!! I have been on pins and needles the last two weeks. I have talked to no one about this but one of my friends at work. I'm sharing this so you can encourage your significant other or, if your female to make sure you get yearly check-ups. My wife waited 2 years and we had a scare. I know one or two of you hate me and seem to post some idiotic remark anytime I post. I couldn't care less what some idiot in the northwest thinks of me but I do ask you not to post your snide remarks here. This is a serious topic to me and I'd like it taken seriously. Thanks for reading

Yeah, great news. A friend of mine just got married and his wife has liver cancer and will probably not make it. He has been a vegetable since. I can understand what you must have been going through.

Glad to hear it, you've had enough going on already. Have a good holiday.

John we had went through the same this year as well on two different checkups. One was a cancerous looking moe,and then two black spots on her liver. The thing that got me is the results took a long time to get.So I was thinking positive but my mind would south and think the worst.I was praying that all is gonna be okay. Finally the results came in and she was okay but now have about $800-$1000 in medical bills but its okay as long as she still here.So I was worried because are wedding is coming 1/9/10 my mind was a mess but better now.I'm happy that all is good with the both of you.

That's great news John, it must have been very scary.

I had my first mammogram a couple of months ago...not at all pleasant but better than the alternative. After that I got a lot of MANogram cartoon jokes from friends for a laugh.

Glad to hear it. I remember getting a call from my mom's doctor while I still lived at home, and all they would say was that they wanted to talk to her about her mammogram. At the time I didn't understand the privacy issues and why they wouldn't just tell her daughter that everything was fine. I assumed that there was something wrong and called my mom at work in a panic. Fortunately, there was nothing wrong. A few years ago, they did find a lump. You'd better believe I was freaking out until she called me with the results. It's always scary to wait for that kind of test when it involves someone you love.
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

Good to hear Teach...I'm glad for you both.

My mom went through the same thing a couple of months ago...but luckily it turned out benign too.

Good to remind women to have a mammogram often...my mom has one every year.

Agreed, that's the best Christmas present you'll ever get.

Both of my parents died of cancer in the last 3 years. Mom was overian & dad was colon. Ovarian doesn't get much attention because the symptoms are non-specific, and most cases aren't caught until it has spread. That was my mom's situation. Below is a link to Yahoo's description of what to look out for, if anyone is interested.

                              Thanks,
                              Duncan
