    Hmmmm....

Just so you all know, at my job I AM THE LAZY CO-WORKER!!!!! BWAHAHAHAAAA!!!!! They just had ANOTHER round of layoffs, and staff levels are a lot lower than neccessary. Us part-timers hadn't been called in for 3 months, so I kinda stopped feeling like an employee. So when they started calling us in again I had already stopped caring. So now I sorta wander around, occasionally doing things.

And for more ideas of what exactly they're doing to you at your job. (I think you got #4'd):

That really sucks, and I'm really sorry that it happened. I was "kinda" demoted at work too. I work w/ the pre-schoolers now, instead of the older kids. I'm missing 2 classes (that I didn't take b/c of my mom, and let's face it, I really didn't wanna sit through those boring courses), so now instead of a program director, I'm a teacher again. At first I was angry, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea. I really never wanted to be a program director. For the older kids, it's a LOT of work, b/c I had to plan field trips, day camp in the summer and school breaks, worry about scheduling w/ my staff, after school pick-ups from 4 different schools, and the extra pick-ups from kids who take after school classes at one of the schools, paperwork, annoying parents, yadda yaada. Now all that is someone else's headache. Now I get to sleep late 'cos I doin't have to be at work until noon, I get the kids down for a nap, make snack, play w/ them and read them stories. Do you know how much stress has been eliminated from my life? It sounds like you were picking up the slack from everyone else's job, and not getting paid for it. Now maybe you'll have some of that stress taken off of you. Good luck to you. I hope it works out.

Hearing stories like these make me even more glad that I'm not in an office job. Every job has annoying crap that you have to deal with, but corporate-speak and office politics would drive me insane.

Sorry to hear that....sometimes it isn't personal but it always hurts.

I remember working for a company years ago where I was a divisional controller. I was told that some changes were going to be made to the organizational structure but not exactly what specifically or how it affected me. To my embarassment, there was a departmental Finance meeting in which the CFO announced that my division was being consolidated with another one and I was now an Accounting Manager of SEC Reporting.

No one even talked to me about it before the announcement was made.
