BB-Gun poll .. do you allow your kids to have one ?

Back in the day, my mom would not let me have a BB-gun no matter what ... I basically really did get the "you'll shoot your eye out" routine until I was 18 ... after that I didn't want one.

Funny thing is, for some strange reason she let me have a shotgun

I can imagine the non USA people reading this right now thinking to themselves "HICKS"

My 9 year old has an air soft gun....they are made of plastic as are the pellets but they are as dangerous as bb guns.

I have to be with him when he uses it because I have caught him a few times pointing it at his siblings (never pulled the trigger). He is allowed to shoot at targets....that's it.

If he does point the gun at others, it gets taken away from him and a second warning will result in permanant removal of it.

With proper education about handling firearms, it is ok, but it kinda depends on where you live as well. In a city environment I can see big problems. I had one, and certainly used it inappropriately on occasion. When I didn't have one I just used one of my friends ones anyway.

My eight-year-old son has one, and has since he was seven. He learned to shoot one before he actually owned one at a cub scout camp. I bought him one and practiced with him so he could earn the BB gun accuracy badge. (He did!)

He's only allowed to use it with me, and only to shoot at Targets.

have one? absolutely not. Use one? Yes, under my direct supervision. I set up cans in the backyard and as long as he is behaving himself, in general, i will let him shoot at the cans. you know what, he is fine with that and loves shooting cans and setting them back up.

in our store we only have 1 toy gun that actuall fires, its a dime store type gun that fires rubber suction misiles at a target...

best sellers are the vintage rat-a-tat type no battery needed machine guns

and the the laser space guns that make siren sounds and flash lights

we dont sell anything that actually fires bb's or bullets and we never will

i dont like selling guns as it is in any shape or form

I have a couple WWII replica air soft machine guns too, we have fun playing with those too but they are just as dangerous as real BB guns

air soft and paintball guns are much bigger sellers now than BB guns.
