I love Egg Nog, but since I have milk allergies, I have to dilute it w/ nonfat milk. I miss the Borden's canned nog, 'cos it wasn't too heavy."Do you believe, you believe in magic?

Egg Nog rules, plain, or with amarula, or in coffee, or with kahlua mmmmmmmm... in fact I'm going to go have some right now."Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."Comment

I LOVE eggnog but I cannot STAND the watery, thin kind that has the consistency of milk. It has to be the nice thick kind that leaves an opaque film on the sides of the glass if you swirl it around a bit.
I have never mixed it with alcohol but there is a brand of eggnog called Southern Comfort (it's non-alcoholic) that is my absolute favorite so far. Can usually find it cheapest at Wal-Mart.
MMMMMM. Man I'm almost tempted to make an eggnog run right now. My mouth is watering for some.

I love egg nog but haven't had it in years. I imagine it would taste too sweet for me now.
I did see what looked like a good recipe for a Hot Toddy I think they are called...basically 1 1/2 ounces dark rum (or to taste...lol), 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp of melted butter (the real kind), nutmeg, milk and cinnamon sticks.
I'm also a big fan of Wassel which is a spiced wine served warm. Tried in Germany while walking through a Christmas market and it was good stuff. Now I finally understand the song "Here we come a Wasselling"."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."
