    Any Ramones fans out there?

I have been seeing/hearing commercials lately on cartoon network playing Ramones songs....it's weird hearing my 8 year old singing their songs. Who would have ever thought the Ramones would be used for jingles.

It's actually kind of cool, maybe they will get some of the respect they deserve now. Too bad most of them did not live to see it.

I caught them at a local bar/concert hall several times before Joey died.

Me and my wife are huge fans. I have only seen them a couple of times in Albany and NYC. Have you ever seen End of the Century? It's the best Ramones documentary.

      Love the Ramones!!

My first real band opened up for them in I think it was 1996 at the Barrymore Theater in Madison.

I got the privelde to meet them. Something I can look back on and say that I did that a lot of band didn't get to do.

If we would have known that Joey was gonna die and the band would breakup less then a decade later we would have scrambled to get autographs and more pictures.

They were fun guys and even though we sucked and were just a nobody opening group of musicians that played punk/hard rock Misfits wannabe band back then. They treated us with respect and were overly friendly. They didn't act like egomaniac rock stars.

There was two other bands with us. We were the local band that guy lucky to play the show at the last minute. Lucky and now I can say very fortunate because they are no longer around.

My one friend was asked if he'd be the "Pinhead" during the show. Which is basically a goofball that wears a mask and acts like an idiot while they played the song pinhead. That was funnier then hell. I'll dig around and scan some pix.

Joey had a fantastic singing voice ... That alone set the Ramones apart from most bands of their era.

Life long fan, my autographed copy of "Too Tough to Die" is on my bathroom wall, so I see it every morning.

Met them a couple of times, real gentlemen.

One of my favorite bands in high school. But I have to wonder what my parents thought when they heard these lyrics coming from my stereo: All the kids want to sniff some glue; All the kids want something to do

YES! I got to see them once here in Atlanta in 1996. The girl I was seeing at the time bought me a ticket and I am SO glad that I had a chance to see them. I'd been a fan for years and just never got the chance before. It was something like 12 shows from their last.

I can answer that for you. They thought, "What the hell is that guy singing? It sounds like gibberish."

My mother (who was a fan of bands like The Kingston Trio and Ann Murray) liked The Ramones. She had no idea what the lyrics were. One day she was in her car listening to a Ramones tape that I made for her. One of her friends was in the car with her when "The KKK Took My Baby Away" came on and her friend COULD understand the words. My mother came home that day and asked me for the first time what these guys sang about. She'd been listening to them for years and never even thought about it!
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

My brother has some Ramones stuff that they signed. If anybody wants any of it, I am sure he'd sell it.

I'm a big fan too. And now so is my 3 1/2 year old son. He's a music nut, and especially likes fast rock songs, and just today we were watching some Ramones videos on YouTube. He loves them.
