I liked it. Only thing I didn't like was no Sherlock Holmes. Can't have his main bad guy in a movie without him.

It's an abomination of the comic. Moore should have sued. The film really feels shallow & commercial in comparison.

That said, it's pretty entertaining if you're unfamiliar with the original book.

Liked the movie a lot. I'm a Connery fan so it was easy to enjoy.

I thought it was pretty good too,the ending at the gravesite made you hope for a part 2,but to no avail sadly.

I thought this was an enjoyable movie. I have read the first comic adventure and I can see why some changes were made. Meena was to be the leader of the team but if you're casting Connery in the film-he has to be the lead. His clout is strongest. Unfortunately we lose the alcohol addiction subplot for his character. Also was a car chase scene really necessary? Couldn't someone have grabbed some horses instead? Still on it's own, pretty good film.

In the comic, Holmes had a cameo appearance in a flashback sequence and more than a couple references to him were made, but it didn't make it to the film. Also there was the issue of added characters that weren't in the comic. Dorian Gray wasn't a bad addition, but Tom Sawyer? Apparently Fox insisted that an American literary character be written into the script.

In the comic, Quatermain was actually an opium addict, but supposedly Connery refused to play such an addict, so the screenwriters had to remove that aspect from the character's history.
The car chase was a bit silly, but there were steampunk aspects to the comic as well, so I guess having such an anachronism in the film wasn't too bad.

I watched it this afternoon on TV. I think it was on TBS or TNT. I like the show more and more every time I watch it.

Haven't read the comic. It came out long before I started reading comics again so I missed it.

I really liked the movie. It could very well be the last time Connery appears on screen and it will certainly be the last time he plays an heroic lead in an action film. It will notable for that if nothing else.

I love this movie. I have never understood all the hate either. Plus it was Sean connery's last movie

                            Hmmmm....

I thought it was okay, but nothing great. Competent; but presented nothing new and no real surprises.

It's actually on my list of movies to see. I love the idea of the comics so I am curious.

I enjoyed it. I'll admit I can't get into the comic due to Kevin O'Neil's art.

It's too bad it didn't do better at the box office. I would have been nice to see Connery go out with a big hit.

Didn't James Robinson write the screenplay for the movie?
