    junk store

    So;

    I went looking for a desk lamp today, and was surprised that NOWHERE in town had any. (I guess some kids are having a REAL diappointing holiday this year....) On my way home I noticed one of them nicknack/consignment/estate sales stores. I'd never seen it before and went in. Place was HUGE and MAZE-LIKE! There was TONS of stuff.... It was like ebay in person.

    And I know what question you're all asking: yes, I did find a lamp. An old pewter 70's looking one that weighs 10kg or so. (Perfect for a real-life game of clue.)

    ....and there WERE some Megos. Most of the toys they had were 50-100 years old, but there were a few newer ones. Including a Maskatron and Hypnos in decent shape, a few 5" Shogun warriors, a 3.5" VINCent figure in good shape and a Sentry robot with micronaut hands. Baron Karza, Oberon and Andromeda in good shape, a Crystar molten man on dragon, and Big Jim crammed into a Human Torch outfit.

    Weird that I never noticed this place before. (I wonder if it's still there....)

    I love places like that, we don't have them much anymore, I'm waiting for our one remaining flea market to become a Rona or something anyday.

                  My lamp was only $20. Got a bunch of old Japanese cartoons on VHS for $8 too. (Mostly the original Getta Robo under a few different titles.)

                      Just wondering if you ever check out the Sunday market (on Front St. across from the St. Lawerence Market)? I've picked up Mego's there before.

                        I meant the toy prices.
                        Nice deal on the lamp, but you gotta go register it with Col. Mustard

                          Oh. Didn't check most of 'em, but Baron Karza was $25, as was Andromeda. Oberon was $15 but had fitst instead of missiles. VINCent looked to be in good shape, and was $17.50. They also had a Captian Power: Tank figure on card for $7.50. (THAT was tempting, but I'm trying not to start any more collections.)
