Tom Skerritt RIP

[great_chandel]

Always one of my favorite actors, Tom Skerritt, has died. From "Alien" to "Top Gun," Tom was one of the best, and one of the most underrated actors ever. He could play the good guy, bad guy -- indifferent guy. He could do it all. He was just superb as "Dallas" in "Alien." That is one of the greatest sci-fi films of all time. He was also great in "Poltergeist III" "Picket Fences" and so many, many other projects. In addition, he was always a gracious through-the-mail signer. I wrote to him some 20 years ago through the mail. He sent me back a very nice 8x10 with a great inscription. Tom was 93.

I really like his performance in a Kolchak episode.

Watched that one many times.

He was always good.

"The Devi's Platform ". Believe it or not, I thought of this when I saw the announcements of his death. He could turn into a bulletproof dog.

Probably one of the scariest KOLCHAK episodes ever.
