A good Christmas Morning

Was digitizing some pictures, and I found this one. The action figure holding the Six Million Dollar Man is me. You can see the Hulk on the coffee table. In the background is a Green Arrow box. I think the Hulk box is there too. Anyone else have one of the Hugos? Used to glue disguises on the face. The glue got messy. I think it was 1975. Got my first cassette recorder that year too.

That and really good parents. They would drive to toy stores all over Philly, looking for Mego figures on my list. Didn't know about distribution in those days.

Growing up in Philly (Frankford), just about all my Megos came from Kresge's, Snyders Toys and Kiddie City on Torresdale Avenue!

With me, most of my Mego’s came from Kresge’s or Child World. I do remember Jordan Marsh toy section and Woolworth’s in downtown Boston.

Our store was Wise, went under back in the 70`s. Most of our Mego figures came from a convenience store that our baby sitter would buy for us once in a while. They where on the counter in a display box. I used to drool every time I would see them.

Might be. I remember I did have a die cast batmobile. Based on the tv show. Don't know the brand. Good eye. The picture is a little faded. The folks knew what I liked. Dad wanted to get me tested, but Mom wouldn't let him.

My brother and me both. Back in those days you could still live on one salary. Mom was a homemaker. We didn't travel the world, but we still had vacations at the shore, and good Christmases. The best of times.

That sounds like a Corgi batmobile, but that would probably be a little smaller than the one in the picture, but it's hard to tell.

Yeah, I'm not sure. So long ago. Not that I wasn't grateful, but I was more into the action figures than the vehicles, except for the Evel Knieval collection. Me and my brother had the stunt cycles, the choppers, the scramble van, and the rocket.
