Anyone Know Anything About Firefox?

I've been using Firefox as my primary browser for awhile now. This week I started getting an error message saying "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem." I've followed Firefox's tips to try and correct the problem, but I still can't access my favorites, my history, or the forward or back buttons in a Firefox window. I can still access the web via Internet Explorer. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix things, or am I doomed to crawl the web forever via IE? Help!

Have you updated to the most current version? What happens if you re-instal?

Yes update the to the newest one, If you have just reinstall.

Ok, reinstalling seems to have removed the problem. It also screwed up my bookmarked pages, but at least I can navigate again. Thanks!

My kids (who are much more savvy than me) with computers always preferred Firefox to IE. I noticed all kinds of problems with our Norton software that would constantly block Firefox from many applications so I always defaulted back to IE.

They did the reinstalls and updates but finally gave up and have moved to Google Chrome. I haven't tried it but they swear that is superior to Firefox and IE.

About 2 weeks ago I started having a problem with Firefox. I can no longer go to Myspace, it says I must upgrade and I cannot upgrade due to system requirements and I can't find any other options to make it work. We have an old computer with Windows ME. So far Myspace is the only thing I cannot use anymore but am still happy with the way my computer performs on everything else.
