That blows. 63 is way too young to go. Dementia is a horrible way to go. Rest in peace Sam.

Awful. Always a fan of Sam's Maxx brilliance and his sensibilities about the human condition.

Dementia runs in my family. So I have multiple firsthand experiences consistent with this sentiment. And, bummer for me, I have always expected this will ultimately be my fate, too.

Dan. From 2011 to 2014. I had to quit my job, put my life on hold and move in with my parents as my dad had it and it was literally killing my mom as she had to deal with him 24 hours a day. It was horrible. You had a man who thought that when it was 1:00 AM it was literally mid afternoon. We had to have special locks installed, because he would walk out of the house at all hours of the day.

I thought the same thing too, about getting Alzheimer's -Dementia. But I went to a neurologist and had MRI's and a spinal tap and no sign of it. So don't lose hope. Keep active, read, do things involving your brain. Thinking positive that you will live a long and dementia free life.
