I watched the new Muppet Show on Disney and was surprised at how much it was like the original. I really enjoyed it, but was surprised it got made without more "updates".

I enjoyed it. But I felt something was missing. The original had skits, and musical numbers, sure, but there were interludes that just featured the art of puppetry. Weird puppets that moved in unconventional ways. Sure, it wasn't an "every episode" thing, and it may very well return if this goes to series. And I understand why something like that would be omitted in a backdoor pilot that needed a strong showing to demonstrate potential. But if they go to series (and I can see no reason it won't), then I'd like to see them take more risks like that, instead of playing it safe with just remaking classic skits.
