In this case it appears as though it may have been "conservative" Mike Huckabee who commuted the sentence of the lead suspect. Maybe his "Willie Horton" moment? Dunno.
All kidding aside this is deeply tragic for the officers, their families and all of the other victims of this horrible guy....whoever he is.

It's got nothing to do with our gun laws.
Look at Mexico right now.
Guns are illegal...every single one of them.
An upstanding citizen gets caught with a gun...and he's in a world of trouble.
Yet the country is run down by hundreds of thousands of drug cartel scumbags...they have the entire country living under fear.
That's what happens when you have defenseless citizens.
These criminals here in the USA...none of them can legally buy a gun...only citizens with absolutely NO criminal record...like me.
Most of these scumbags get their guns through the black market.

I have never...even mockingly...brandish a gun at anyone...not even empty (no bullets)...to anyone...not even to cats...and God knows I hate cats...lol.

In this case the scumbag appears to be a convicted felon so there is already a law against him owning a firearm. I know the US has more gun violence...but do they have more TOTAL violence than other countries? I dunno but if my 110 lb wife is going to be attacked by a 250 lb convicted felon I would like for her to be able to legally own a defensive weapon.
I found this years ago and thought it was interesting....stories of real people successfully defending themselves with firearms.
