    Who, Bruce Greenwood?

Yeah, that was a really good movie.

Yesterday I saw "Where the #$&% is Santa?".
It's about the quest of Bam Margera (from Jackass) and his friends to find the real Santa in Finland. In the meantime one of his friends back home is trying to get some.

Somehow I doubt this is what you meant tho with sappy holiday movies

It was so stupid, I had to watch it
I don't know the movie, but something similar did happen in WW1.

it sounds like some hack writer was loosely basing it on the christmas truce in the trenches in 1917 and moved into ww2 to allow a "feminine" character to coordinate

my wife constantly has on lifetime and hallmark

I will admit I watched the hallmark hall of fame last night on CBS (A dog named christmas) and it is a sappy one

SPILOER IF YOU CARE TO KNOW

basic plot a special needs boy convinces his dad to take a shelter dog in for the holidays as part of a program at the shelter dad agrees but is firm the dog goes back after the holiday)

turns out dad is a nam vet who's little dog over their died saving him from a land mine and dad never got over the hurt

int he end the boy gets a real job and they keep the dog)

I openly cried a couple times as a former soldier, dog person, and a parent of a special child it hit really close to home

    Sappy but great
Miracle in 34th st (the 30's version in b/w)
    It's a wonderful life

    Sappy

For the most part, I try to avoid those newer "made for TV" Christmas movies. I stick mostly to the "classics", and try to watch these every year:

    1) Miracle on 34th Street (the original)
    2) It's A Wonderful Life
    3) A Christmas Story
    4) A Christmas Carol (the Hallmark HOF version with George C Scott as Scrooge)
    5) The Homecoming (pilot for the Waltons TV show)
    6) Holiday Inn
    7) White Christmas

I also have several DVD TV collections that I pull out to watch the Christmas episodes.
