    Stuff I Do Not Miss

Film cameras. I know I know the warmnpalettes the depth of vision and analog zoom. I have a camera on my phone and my tablet. In a pinch I could use my laptop camera. And I always hated developing film. Always. And seeing the terrible results a week later. I prefer immediate so I can take another shot or 20 if needed.

1980s car electronics were the worst. Cars from the 80’s had the most expensive and somehow cheapest suite of electronic doodads and razzmatazz. And they all failed within what 5 years! And it was always you had to replace the whole unit not just the little gizmo that failed.

    Tell me yours.

Cash. I hate the thought of handling something that has been touched by hundreds of filthy hands. I hate all the imagery and slogans on cash, and I really much prefer the ease and convenience of using a direct debit system.
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures

      So many things-
-long distance charges for phone calls and needing to keep track of the length of the call to be able to keep your bill down or your parents from being upset how much the call cost

-difficulty in watching the shows you wanted when they were aired opposite each other, someone in the household had control of the TV and wanted to watch something else, or you had commitments/plans outside the house at the time it was on (we didn't get a VCR until I was an upperclassman in high school)

-having to track bills coming in, keeping them organized, and writing checks and making sure they were mailed out (and you had stamps to do so) in time for them to get there on time (online billpay and autopayments are so much easier)

-getting up to physically change the channel when watching TV (or when parents were watching TV and you were trying to play in another part of the house but still had to go change the channel

-gas lines during the gas shortages

      -gym class

-having to mow my grandfather's lawn with an old non-motor push mower like this:

      [email protected]?v=1689946844.jpg

-waiting for the school bus in freezing temperatures (the bus stop was about a half mile from where we lived)

      -card catalogs

-nuclear strike drills hiding under the desk (an exercise in futility if ever there was one)

      -pull top tabs

-having to get allergy shots every week from a nurse who had a lit cigarette hanging from her mouth as she gave me the shot

      -smoking sections

-the horrible taste of the adhesive when you had to lick a stamp

      -safety scissors

      -M

As an investor, the complexity and cost to simply buy index funds with disposable income - the finance industry was (and is still) much more complex then and if you didn’t have hundreds of thousands to invest , they didn’t want to deal with you. Now, you simply send a few bucks each month to one of the big financial firms and it’s all set.

I miss rewinding like five percent. For a niche reason. My family can ignore me for a week and I can ask them if they need something every fifteen minutes and it’s always no. But if I start a dvd everyone needs me for two minutes every twenty minutes
