Going the movie theater 2024 my list

I really enjoy going to the theater to watch a movie. I know a lot of people don't like the cost, annoyance factor and vibe of seeing something in a shared environment. Also COVID really messed up everything up and it's still not back to the levels before that and may never be there again.

My draw is I get to enjoy the movie without all of the at home distractions, looking at my phone, someone comes to the door etc.. It allows me to focus.

With that, I don't blindly go and see every movie... Sometimes it's a family request and we all go, or it's just my boys going with me.

I pulled up my AMC stubs account to look at what I saw there in 2024 and here's the list:

Godzilla Minus One (I actually saw this three times, but only two in 2024 the other was in December 2023). One was the regular colorized version again and the other one was the B&W version
    Dune Part 2
    Civil War
    Alien 45th Anniversary
    Furiosa Mad Max
    A Quiet Place Day One
    Longlegs
    Twisters
    Deadpool and Wolverine
    Inside Out 2
    Alien Romulus
Back to the Future 2 anniversary
    Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
    Gladiator II

There may be another movie or two I missed on this list.... So overall at least one a month, of course that isn't how it laid out, but not a bad year of movies.

Lots of remakes or sequels on this list for sure. Honestly I probably enjoyed Godzilla and the two Alien movies the most and seeing Back to the Future 2 in the theater was awesome. Deadpool and Inside Out were very good. I feel Dune is overrated, doesn't mean I didn't like it, but it's not "that good" IMO.. But that's just my view.

So far this year I've seen Nosferatu, Wolf Man and the re-release of Goonies. Not a bad start to 2025!

I can't think of a single film, that I am dying to see, sure there is the New Cap flil and SUperman and isn't Fantastic Four this year too? But other then that.

Yeah, Nothing comes to mind. With that being said, I have MISSED the last THREE Chicago International FIlm Festivals that happen in October and It does bum me out that I either have to work or I am scheduled for something else.

Home of the Chicago International Film Festival, North America's longest running international competitive film festival and Chicago's year-round arts and education non-profit.

Ditto for the Chicago Latino film fest.

The Chicago Latino Film Festival is the longest running Latino Film festival in the country. Come see what's new in our 40th Anniversary Edition!

I do NOT want to see crap like the Fast & Furious films and that type of ILK. Sorry for fans of that genre, but it does nothing for me.

Maybe, Guillermo's FRANKENSTEIN if it's in the Cinema. Will see.

I only went to one movie in 2024, "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes". It was okay, but the only reason I seen it theatrically was because I wasn't sure if it'd be released on DVD/Blu-Ray because of it being owned by The Mouse (Disney).

We started going back to the theater during Covid. The theaters were empty so we had the room to ourself. Then our theater came up with a f plan, for $99 you get 12 movies 6 large popcorns 6 large drinks (refill on both). So we go to the theater during the day we're it's empty and by now they know what sot we get.

Because we get a booklet once a month, we even go to the flashback theater watching older movies I do not remember seeing at the theater.

I stand corrected and I feel like a dope for not remembering.

          Becoming Led Zeppelin

The first 18 months of the band's existence, Supposedly Plant starts to tear up when he hears an old interview with BONZO, his ole Mucker.
