    Snow day!

Fo me this is rare, Snow day. In my 50+ years I have only seen snow here a handful of times. Today is one, it just started to turn white.

I know most of you are used to this but this will be my nephews first snow day and he is 10.

BF & I are spending the night at my parents so we do not have to drive down to see them and check in on them.

    Houston early this morning!

I have a friend in Florida freaked out he was going to get an inch last night. Two weeks ago we had about 10 inches dumped on us, plus another 4 or so here and there since! But I get it, if it never happens, no one is prepared for it. We don't get snow like this very often. Once ever 20 or so years. It pretty much shut everything down for a few days.

I don't know if kids around here (state of WI) even know the joy of a snow day anymore: Ever since Covid hit I think they have the kids set up to do remote learning if school is called off due to inclement weather.

Our school system has NTI (work from home days), but honestly the assignments take way less time than an actual school day. So there's plenty of time for kids to still get out and play, AND it doesn't count against them, so they have to make up days in the summer.

Snow fall here (Chicago) has been moderate so far. But it's been below zero the last two days. I put in a bottle of HEET in the gas tank to get the auto going in the AM for work.

When it does snow big time, it is NO FUN shoveling that crap. Especially when it cold and the wind is blowing it around and you're OLD!! My uncle had a heart attack doing that , thankfully he made it through and is still here.

Winter sucks as you get older.

Our snow/ice was here and now gone. There just wasn't enough to play with and I really wanted to take some pictures with my ReMego Svengoolie Theater.

2 weeks ago we got about 10 inches, and about a half inch of ice, which basically turned the snow to concrete. I barely made it out of my drive way. Then it has snowed about another 3-4 inches since, and not much of it has melted, with temperatures this week being in negative single digits, with highs in the low teens.

It was pretty, and we had some fun in it, but I'm ready to see it melt.

The Boston area got its fair share of snow, north and west got about 8-9 inches, south of Boston where I am got about 5-6 inches, and if you don’t shovel it fast, it turns to hard Ice. So I’m out there at 2:00 am after it all stopped and shoveled my walkway and driveway and put ice melt down, just me and the bulldozer snowplow that goes by and leaves a small wall of hard dirty snow at the end of the driveway. It’s very quite at that time of night, kind of creepy, all I could hear was the snowplow driving around the neighborhood.
