Did anyone hear about Hulu becoming a subscription site?

One of the parents at my school mentioned to me that she heard on the radio that Hulu will be a subsciption site sometime in the future. As in PAID subscription? That will really suck. I watch a LOT of Hulu, but I'd really hate to have to pay for it!

Maybe she missed part of the story. They might be doing one of those option things like other sites do where if you pay you don't have to listen to the commercials, ads, etc while the free use will still involve the ads?

I heard they were going to start charging fees next year, don't know any details though. Being in Canada, Hulu isn't technically available to me. I have to go a round about way (using proxies, etc) to trick the site into thinking I'm in the US. It's a PITA though and there are easier ways for me to find any TV shows that I missed (hello torrents! )

I get a headache if I watch any videos longer then 5 minutes on my computer ...

I never watch Hulu

I hate watching TV or movies on a computer too. I stream them to my TV where I can get nice and comfortable.

I can get nice and comfy too. I put a junk DVD in the PC and hit PAUSE and minimize the screen. This keeps the screensaver from coming on. Then I turn on the video and hit full screen. Then I turn the monitor to face my bed, lay on my tummy and relax...ahhh...comfy.
