    ELO

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

            Europe the Final Countdown

the lp sold millions of copies. But, not all was well in Europe. Guitarist: John Norum was not happy with this "Commercial direction" that the band took.

So he split and the band got Kee Marchello in. So what does John do?

He goes gets a solo deal and releases his first solo lp and the lead single is

Love is meant to last forever

BUT! The tune sounds VERY FAMILIAR!!!!

This is where the expression; "Ripping yourself off" comes into play. HAHAHAHAHA!

WARRANT got a pretty bad reputation, they got the "Hair Metal" tag more than any other band.Sadly.

Jani Lane had too many demons. Alcoholism and according to his ex-wife Bobbi Brown, she claims that he was Raped, by a major metal star. And of course everyone assumes it is Rob Halford, but trust me I have seen Rob's EX (his ex partner and Manager from his FIGHT days) and he was pretty "Butch". Jani was not Rob's "type!" Who was it? Bobbi won't say but those of us in the biz and community, think we have the suspect.

                    RIP Jani Lane. February 1, 1964 – August 11, 2011

So why am I waxing nostalgic over Jani and Warrant? CHERRY PIE the lp is great, so many great tunes and it wasn't fair that they got the shaft due to fkn GRUNGE!

                    Check out the tunes yourselves.

                    BLIND FAITH

I SAW RED is one of the greatest (Power) Ballads of all time, it has so much relevance to me over the eons!

Jani thanked his dad for his love of reading and while the tune is called: UNCLE TOM's CABIN; the video and song tell a very powerful story. "Hair Metal" my ARSE!!!

I know it's not Friday night, but I'll forget by then. Big Jani Lane fan here. I still need to get my hands on the Saints of the Underground CD.
