Need help from the Music gods here to determine whether or not I've lost my mind

I know that I've heard X perform a cover of El Paso, but I can't find it anywhere. Think it was a Live recording. I'm going bezoomny, droogs. If it's out there, I must have it.

In the 90's I was introduced to the Japanese BONUS Track. In Japan, the Record companies have to compete with their American Counterparts. So if the latest NIGHTRANGER lp comes out here in the US with 10 tracks. The American copy is typically cheaper then the Japanese copy. SO.....

The Japanese companies add on an extra track (or 2 sometimes even 3!) an guitar pick, a Biography of the band/act, whatever to get that sale over the US copy. I learned that in the 90's when fawken 'Grunge', basically killed off all Heavy Metal Bands here in the US and HM Bands (with some exceptions) could only get records deals in Japan and/or Europe.

BUT! JB; in your case that track and more:

    Bonus tracks (2001 reissue)
"Riding with Mary" (Single Version) 3:12
"X Rewrites 'El Paso'" (Rehearsal)/"Because I Do" (TV Mix/Instrumental) (Marty Robbins, Cervenka, Doe) 2:56
    "Universal Corner" (Live) 4:08
"Breathless" (Single Mix) (Otis Blackwell) 2:20
"How I (Learned My Lesson)" (Live)2:20

is from a remastered reissue of their 3rd lp: UNDER THE BIG BLACK SUN. NOT a Japanese bonus track, but a bonus with remastered tracks!

But you had good instincts on tracking this down. Good for you!

    Here is the link

Now go out and get it!!!! Billy Zoom is a great guitarist, very much admired

    Cheers!!

Lots of some great pics, Capital Records is practically a landmark in L.A. noticed the girl walking with her cell phone, looks like she’s wearing a New York Yankees cap? By the way, very nice World Series win for the Dodgers, really wanted them to win, especially against the Yankees, was rooting big for them and of course ex Redsox Mookie Betts, should have never let him go, you don’t get rid of your best player, glad he got another word series ring with the Dodgers.

JB!!! HAHAHA! Dude! I LOVE YOU!! I can't even remember the LAST TIME I was there. Those photos bring back memories. Do they still have the dvds Upstairs?????

I was gonna post on your thread about that breakfast place you went to on PICO Blvd. I know it' s not there anymore, but there was a place called; "The JOINT on Pico" and it was basically a "Speakeasy" of sorts. We were invited on night by that scumbag: HAPPENIN' HARRY (Scammer professional' and Smackhead) It was a Thursday night and the first person we were introduced too was: DIZZY REED, the keyboardist for Gn'R and his band/project: HOOKERS & BLOW were playing that night and maybe there were like 20 people there. Dizzy was soooo Kool and we talked about his old bandmate: BUCKETHEAD! HAHAHA! Dizzy had TWO Beautiful Petite Japanese chicks playing guitar for him and this was before; BABY METAL, cause thinking back they might have been there!!

As the night progressed; RON JEREMY SHows up and takes a table, No girls with him unfortunately. Then we go out for a smoke and a Mercedes pulls up to the curb and the driver gets out and so does his passenger. It's LEIF GARRET! Things start to get interesting. Hookers & Blow are playing and my friend Pete makes the mistake of INSULTING Leif ( CAN YOU SING 'RUNAROUND SUE") Leif tells Pete to perform a sexual function! HAHAHAHAHA and Pete who is a huge BOUNCER/Wrestler walks away in shame. He later buys Leif two shots of Jägermeister! HAHAHA! Then Harry introduces us to CC DeVILLE! And CC is 50 sheets to the wind!! Harry is trying to get CC to Hire Pete as his new body guard. CC INTERROGATES Pete as if he were in a FBI Interrogation room! HAHAHHHAHAHA I was laughing so hard!!

Then Pete ends up giving Xanax to Jeremy, CC, and Leif and they all fall asleep and end up having to get help going home!

Dizzy was the last man standing, what a great guy! Longest running member of Gn'R besides AXL. It was a great night and I had FUN! And it was a nice "PUB Atmosphere" Not crowded at all.

            I miss LA so much.

            JG!
