One of the greatest shows ever was "Good Times." While "The Jeffersons" ended up getting far more accolades, "Good Times" was the first show to ever portray a black family. John Amos was just superb on the show. However, after constant fights with the creative writers, he was written out of the show after the third season. Yet, what an impact he had on the show. The entire cast was just superb (although Jimmy Walker's Dy-no-mite got really, really old). John was also fantastic in "Coming to America." That is arguably Eddie Murphy's best film. John also had a memorable turn in "Roots" as well. He was a really, really versatile actor. John was 84.

Oh man, he was TV's scariest dad back in the day, but he was a damn good actor and someone I always loved seeing in roles.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

RIP to him-He had a great acting career, and "almost" 85 is a good run...
Unfortunately, now it seems as though there's some controversy about his death: https://www.aol.com/lifestyle/john-a...181148314.htmlComment
